Olympus OM-D HD Video Samples and Fuji X-Pro 1 side by side video test

Steve Huff compares the video of both cameras. The Olympus is the clear winner, by a long shot. What’s really impressive is how well the 5-axis stabiliser works on the Olympus.

Interesting (and entertaining) comparison of the Fuji X-Pro1 vs Sony NEX-7 vs Oly OM-D E-M5 in a low Low Light Test by DigitalRev

Nikon D800-D800E First Comparison

Luminous Landscape compares the two models. In a nutshell they find the D800E is definitely sharper with more resolution and they didn’t discover a major moire problem either. You should check out their analysis.

Nikon releases 28mm f 1.8g Prime Lens. Looks promising. It’s full frame and it has a reasonable price point so liokks like a winner. Not sure 28mm is the ideal focal length for a prime, but still.

Imaging resource reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1

Good overall review from Imaging Resource and they have a good selection of samples and analysis. It’s a bit geeky but it’s very comprehensive.

Short version….it’s very good!

Prevec shoots 200 fps slow motion short with the Sony NEX-FS700

The FS700 is shaping up to be one impressive camera. hopefully.

Here’s an interesting little video I came across (from here) showing off the leather case and grip for the fuji X-Pro1. It looks very retro.

Oh baby, please, just focus! There was nothing challenging to focus on during this shoot, plenty of contrast and texture, nonetheless, I can’t recall a shoot in recent years with so many mis-focused images. This is serious, my friends, because the best sensor/lens/hybrid viewfinder won’t matter if the images are blurry! I am at a loss for words here, there is really nothing I can say except, Fuji, PLEASE try your best to improve it with the next firmware and use a much better AF module in your next model. I love the camera but the current state of AF disqualifies it for the type of work I would want to shoot with it.

Mike Kobal on shooting with the Fuji X-Pro 1. On the plus side he does find a lot to like about the camera too, but it’s interesting that more and more people are complaining (loudly) about the focus. Check out his review though, he has some great images.
